The Israel Electric Corporation will mark 100 years since its founding on March 29, 2023. In the 1930’s, the Company built two additional steam-operated power stations, the Haifa Power Station and the Reading Power Station in Tel Aviv. The Israel Electric Corporation continues to develop and add electrical grids along the length and breadth of the country, constantly improving and utilizing new technologies. Thus, for example, when the Company first started it produced less than a mega-watt of power, but today its produces more than 10,000 mega-watts of electricity. In addition, the national grid, which was originally only a few kilometers long in Tel Aviv, now stretches over tens of thousands of kilometers throughout the country, incorporating both upper and underground lines. Throughout its 100 years, the Company’s employees have contended with countless challenges, ranging from wars to climate hazards. Israel Electric Corporation’s employees have and will continue to work tirelessly to achieve the Company’s goal: to provide reliable, safe, available, high quality electricity to all Israelis.
