Sending regular mail
General
The Israel Postal Company delivers mail to the homes of addressees two and a half days per weeks (every other work day, except Fridays, Saturdays and Holydays).
Mail delivery to Mobile Mail service towns and paid post office boxes is carried out daily.
Sending regular mail
Regular letters are the most common means of sending documents or other goods weighing up to 50 grams inside an envelope. This product is mostly intended for the delivery of written information or small light objects.
Regular letters are enclosed in a rectangular envelope with a minimum size of 140 mm X 90 mm and a maximum size of 237 mm X 160 mm, provided that the length of the envelope is at least 1.4 times its width.
Service quality standards
Regular mail
Out of all accumulated mail, to any town, within three (3) work days 61%
Out of all accumulated mail, to any town, within three (4) work days 75%
Out of all accumulated mail, to any town, within three (5) work days 90%
Out of all accumulated mail, to any town, within three (6) work days 95%
Out of all accumulated mail, to any town, within three (7) work days 100%
The licensee will deliver the mail to the post office boxes of addressees, except for mail requested by the addressee to be delivered to a paid box office.
Postal fees may be paid at any postal unit.
Once postal fees are paid, letters are sent using the mail box.
Envelopes and
stamps may be purchased in the online store on this site. Delivery by messenger is free with orders exceeding 300 NIS.
Important to know
A regular letter within Israel sent by soldiers in active service are exempt from postal fees when stamped with the Military Postal Stamp and a date.
